I have been blessed to know Chelsey for a couple of years through my work at Discover Hope 517 Ministry, and she is a blessing to me and the ministry. Watching her faith blossom has been a beautiful thing to witness. I still remember the first time I saw her come to a recovery meeting, and I can attest that she has been made NEW through Christ alone! Her story is a witness to the power of the Holy Spirit when we give our lives to Christ and his redemptive power. She is no longer an addict. She is now a brand new creation, redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
I pray a special blessing over her story that it will have the power to impact someone struggling with addiction so that they may come to know the redemptive hope of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Lord, use this testimony with power! AMEN!
What do you do for a living?
Chelsey: I’m a Customer Service Representative, and I work from home.
What is your life verse and why?
Chelsey: Isaiah 61:3 - because this verse really spoke to me after my daughter passed away.
What is your favorite book in the Bible & why?
Chelsey: Proverbs because of all the wisdom.
What is your favorite Worship song?
Chelsey: I have so many that I love, but I will pick: We need a miracle by Charity Gayle
Do you serve at your Church home? If so, what do you do?
Chelsey: Yes, I am the youth leader for the teenagers at Christian Life Church. I started doing youth group in April 2022.
In what ways do you praise Jesus?
Chelsey: I praise Jesus by worshiping through music, praying, teaching his word, sharing his love with others, and helping people.
In what ways do you proclaim Jesus?
Chelsey: By living out loud for Jesus. Inviting people to Church. Telling people about God. By being a good friend, praying for people, and by being an example.
In what ways do you promote Jesus?
Chelsey: By sharing my testimony, demonstrating the love of Christ, reading the Bible with people, and praying with them.
How old were you when you caught fire for the Lord? Tell me a little bit about that story.
Chelsey: When I was 6 years old, I accepted Jesus into my heart. I was on fire for him most of my childhood. Then, I fell into addiction when I became a teenager and rededicated my life to him when I got sober in 2020. Since then, I have been giving God my complete dedication.
Did you experience a moment in your life when God revealed Himself in a significant way?
Chelsey: There are many times, but the biggest one was right before I got sober in 2020; he basically told me that I needed to choose him and stop living in addiction.
What keeps your fire for the Lord lit?
Chelsey: I’m just so blessed that he pulled me out of addiction and that he’s been there for me all of my life. Even when I didn’t see it, he was there. Every day, I look around and can see all of the miracles and his glory. Each day, my faith grows even more.
What is your favorite hobby or something you like to do for fun?
Chelsey: I enjoy walking and listening to worship music. I enjoy going to church events and conferences.
What advice or words of wisdom do you have for other women?
Chelsey: When we live our lives for God, we have nothing to fear.
Thank you again, Chelsey, for being willing to share your story. I can't express how
blessed it has been to watch your faith and fire grow for the Lord.
I hope she doesn't mind, but I added a new picture of her that represents her beautiful personality and faith so well. Photo Credit to K Photography.
